In-Text Example:
Cite the line(s) of the poem or play rather than the page number in the in-text citation. Use a shortened title to refer the reader to the correct poem in your in-text citation. Use a shortened title that describes the poem and is distinctive enough to separate it from other poems in the same collection.
Once you have used the poet’s name the first time, use only the line number when discussing a single poet.
... "The carriage held but just ourselves / And Immortality" (Dickinson "Death" 3/4).
