How to Get a Library Card

Currently enrolled students are automatically set-up with a library account and renewed each semester they are enrolled in classes. Students should use a picture IRSC id to check-out items and use the computers at Miley Library. Community members may apply for borrowing privileges or use the computers with a valid, government issued, picture id. Non-students under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the computers, but may apply for a library card with parental consent.

    Search for Books at the Miley Library

    Books at the Miley Library are organized using the Library of Congress system. You need to be a current student with a valid picture ID to check-out books. Community members can get a library card by showing a valid driver's license or state ID card.

    To get to the databases, start at

    Click Libraries on the bottom left

    Click Find Articles

    Click Databases by Subject

    Login to the databases.

    The database login screen looks like this.

    Your Borrower ID is your student ID (for employees it is your PID).

    Your PIN is your 4-digit birthdate (MMDD).

    Request an Item

    IRSC can borrow many different titles from other libraries. If you have a specific title you want, you can search for it using the Florida State Universal Catalog search If you find the title there, click on the UBorrow icon to request the book from another college. If you are looking for a specific article or book not found in the catalog, use the Request an Item form below to borrow the material from another library.
