Physical Therapy: Clinical Faculty for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program

A research guide for IRSC's Physical Therapist Assistant students and information for clinical faculty for the PTA program on how to access the libraries' resources.

Welcome PTA Program Clinical Faculty

IRSC Physical Therapy Clinical Instructors are entitled to access many of the IRSC Libraries' print and online resources. This can be a tremendous benefit to the practicing clinician. The libraries have a core collection of physical therapy books as well as extensive subscriptions to expensive professional journals. This guide is designed to provide quick access to all of the IRSC Libraries' physical therapy resources as well as offer some expert advice on research in the health professions. Remember, the IRSC Librarians are here to help you at any stage in your search for information!

Use the tabs above to navigate to guides on the various resources and services we provide. The IRSC Libraries look forward to working with you!

How to Get a Library Card

Physical Therapy Clinical Instructors will receive a form from the Physical Therapy Program Director. This form should be completed and returned in-person to the IRSC main campus library. A library card will be issued along with credentials used to log in to online resources like databases, e-journals and e-books.

Currently enrolled students are automatically set-up with a library account and renewed each semester they are enrolled in classes. Students should use a picture IRSC id to check-out items and use the computers at Miley Library. Community members may apply for borrowing privileges or use the computers with a valid, government issued, picture id. Non-students under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the computers, but may apply for a library card with parental consent.
