Call for Proposals

Proposals are now being accepted for the inaugural Digital Learning Day (DLD) at Indian River State College (IRSC), to be held February 14, 2020 at the Main Campus in Fort Pierce, FL.  DLD is an opportunity to share classroom successes in higher education with your colleagues at IRSC and those virtually attending from outside the institution.

Participants from all disciplines are invited to submit proposals that focus on strategies or techniques that engage students while supporting retention and success in blended or online courses. Successful proposals will explore instructional strategies that meet learning objectives, highlight transformative teaching practices, or share stories of successful collaborations to improve learning experiences.

Individuals or teams of up to three presenters are encouraged to submit a proposal. Presentations will be 20 minutes in length followed by 5 minutes for questions.

Special consideration will be made for proposals which:

• Highlight an institutionally supported technology tool
• Demonstrate cross-departmental cooperation (eg. incorporating virtual campus, library, advising, among others)
• Develop online teaching environments that foster inclusivity
• Emphasize transferable ideas across disciplines
• Utilize tools and resources related to career readiness
• Showcase assignments that promote critical thinking and research

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, October 25, 2019.
