Actions You Can Take to Help Combat Racism

We encourage our community to use both the methods employed by our predecessors and those unique to the 21st century to fight this injustice:

Calling politicians in your local area.
Participating in active, but peaceful protests on the streets.
Using vlogs, blogs and other social media platforms.
Initiating letter writing campaigns.
Creating podcasts.
Voting (both locally and nationwide).
Attending policy making meetings in your area to make your opinions known.
Running for office to be a voice for historically disenfranchised groups.

Center for Policing Equity
Center for Policing Equity can measure bias in policing. That means we can stop it. 1 in 5 Americans interacts with law enforcement yearly. Of those encounters, 1 million result in use of force. And if you’re Black, you are 2-4 times more likely to have force used than if you are White. Reform can work. Working directly with police to measure behaviors and revise policies results in fewer people killed, and fewer people in jail.
