Crash Course in the New MLA Style

Facilitators:  Kendra Auberry and Angie Neely-Sardon

The MLA Handbook Eighth Edition was released earlier this year.  The new MLA style described in the handbook is a major departure from the Seventh Edition involving many changes to the creation of reference citations, which are skills necessary for ENC1101, ENC1102, and core humanities classes.   MLA asks writers to use a universal citation structure that applies to all sources regardless of their medium. Allow IRSC Libraries’ MLA gurus to catch you up on changes and support a smooth transition to the Eighth Edition. Bring your assignments and grading rubrics and we’ll help you convert them. All attendees will receive student and faculty resources to help support student retention and success. To register for this session, please email jrobson@irsc.edu.

Dates for sessions: Friday, September 9, 2017 from 9:30-10:30, Monday, September 12, 2017 from 2:00-3:00, Wednesday, November 9, 2017 from 4:00-5:00, Monday, December 5, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 at Main Campus in the Kight Center (V125)
