Our preschoolers learned about fossils and bones from creatures who lived long ago through the many examples brought in by Dr. Lowery.

Our preschoolers got silly and started moving by practicing dinosaur yoga. Then they celebrated with a freeze dance party by Professor Neubert.

Jodi read one of the preschooler's favorite stories as they received their own binoculars to look for bears! Then we got up as we moved along with The Kimboomer's on YouTube as they acted out all the ways the characters in the story went on the bear hunt until we met a bear!

Terri Holly reads "If You'll be My Valentine" by Cynthia Rylant

The preschoolers enjoyed learning about all the love they can send in one simple card on Valentine's Day. Then they made their own cards for the very special people in their lives.

Joseph Graham reads "The Tooth Book" by Dr. Seuss

Mr. Joe came to read and he brought a very silly puppet with him. All the preschoolers had the opportunity to work on their toothbrush skills with Joe's very own set of teeth. They had a funny, silly blast reading today.

After the story, the preschoolers got to visit our mini-city and delivered mail to the Pet Store, the Grocery Store, and the Library. They also wrote letters and mailed them to their own homes.

The preschoolers laughed at this silly and inspiring story then they got to put feathers on their own roosters!

The preschoolers had a great time decorating their own St. Patrick's Day hats using a potato stamper!

The preschoolers enjoyed helping create the storyline for "Are You My Mother" by hanging up each new animal the baby bird encountered on his adventurous first day out in the world on our magnet board. They also practiced their animal sounds!

After reading about growing plants in a garden the preschoolers practiced labeling the parts of a flower with a fun little puzzle Kendra made. The children got to take it home and share some fun facts about plants with their families.

Pat Pongam reads "Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain" by Verna Aardema

After reading this Kenyan folktale about drought and tempting the rain to fall, the preschoolers made their very own rain sticks out of bamboo brought by Ms. Pat. The children had a chance to make music by shaking their rain sticks and hoping for rain.

After learning about how germs spread and the power of soap, the preschoolers tried out the pepper and soap experiment. They were shocked when the pepper spread far away from their soapy finger.

Kim Zgonc reads "Shelley, the Hyperactive Turtle" by Deborah M. Moss

After hearing about Shelley's difficulties in learning how to manage her impulses the children got to meet a real-life tortoise friend of Ms. Kim's, Ellie! Ellie the tortoise, we learned, likes the desert, not the water and she cannot even swim! Ellie also loves lettuce which the children tried to feed Ellie, but she was not hungry. The preschoolers also made a tortoise or a turtle of their own to take home and this one is guaranteed not to pee on you as Ellie did to poor Ms. Kim!

JoAnn Pagano reads "It's OK to be Different: A Children's Picture Book about Diversity and Kindness" by Sharon Purtill

JoAnn brought one of her students to help her read to the preschoolers about how we are all alike and how we are all different. They also sang and danced along with JoAnn.

The preschoolers had time to make a handprint pot holder for all their moms on Mother's Day!

After the story, the preschoolers had time to plant their own tiny sunflower seeds and take them home. I hope they grow!

Emlyn Anderson reads "Look It's Raining" by Mathieu Pierloot

Emlyn got into the rainy day spirit and came equipped with rain boots and a butterfly headband for her presentation. After reading the preschoolers made colorful butterflies out of coffee filters.

Berenise brought in a soon-to-be butterfly from her own garden to share with the preschoolers what a chrysalis looks like.

The preschoolers listened to this factual account of what happened when COVID hit the world. After reading the preschoolers made their own sunflowers out of tissue paper and paper plates to help remind them how good it feels to be able to go outside again without fear.

Anne Alexander reads "Shubert is a S.T.A.R." by Dr. Becky A. Bailey

Anne read about how Shubert can stay calm when he gets frustrated at school. The preschoolers made their own STAR wands to help them remember to Stop, Take a breath, And Relax. They also practiced breathing techniques they can use when they become frustrated.

After the story, the preschoolers created a paper craft of a beach scene and they celebrated summer with a bubble party in the library!

Terri bought supplies for the preschoolers to create their own little vacation-themed diorama craft after the story. 

April Litton reads "Love Makes a Family" by Sophie Beer

April gave the preschoolers time to draw their own families after reading this story. Many of the children made their families into animals, so we had a dog family, a cat family, and even a Bigfoot family!
